THE Morning Routine
Everyone wants those 5 more life-altering moments of sleep before having to be a real person. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but we all have to do it. Here are a few ways that I, personally, like to congratulate myself for taking the plunge and getting out of bed.
I like to start my morning off with a cup of coffee… because, DUH. Once I feel the life coming back to me, I begin my simple skincare regimen that keeps my face both happy and healthy.
Skincare is something that is really important to me – after all, we only get one face. I like keeping my routine pretty simple. Quality over quantity, people! For the past year, I’ve been sticking to First Aid Beauty’s incredible products. I have sensitive and reactant skin so this brand is perfect. I always start my mornings with FAB’s Face Cleanser. This Holy Grail product gently cleanses your skin and removes any excess makeup.
For people like me – allergy prone and sleep deprived – eye creams are an absolute must. I lightly dab a small amount of the Eye Duty Triple Remedy under my eyes. The light tint in the product makes those no-makeup days possible. It brightens, depuffs, and hydrates the under-eye area like no other.
I can’t stress this enough – no one likes under-moisturized skin! I will never, ever leave the house, let alone my bedroom, without slapping on some of my go-to FAB Ultra Repair Cream. This stuff is gold; trust me.
Whether it’s going to work, class, or just leaving the house we all want to look a little less like we literally just rolled out of bed. Here’s how I take care of that: I keep my makeup minimal during the week, because who has time for a full contour session at 8 a.m.? Tinted moisturizer, concealer, cream blush, mascara, and a brow pencil – this is all you really need. These are my go-to products that take under 5 minutes to apply and make you look a little less angry about your early morning.
Ladies, we have to eat! Nothing makes me happier when I’m in a rush than knowing I have a healthy premade bowl of overnight oats waiting for me in the fridge. All you’ll need are steel cut oats, almond milk, chia seeds, agave, cinnamon, shaved coconut (if you’re feeling fancy) and your choice of fruits. Just stick your bowl of oats in the fridge the night before and voilà, a filling and nutritious breakfast to keep you going until lunchtime.
